Prelude
1935 United States Airspace. Latitude 40 degrees north.  Longitude 74 degrees west.  Roughly over New York City.
A rare occurrence, I thought, to see a Hughes H-1 so close to a city.  I figured it was some sort of parade, maybe a world festival, I wasn't sure, especially being four years old at the time.  My father, a sailor by the name of "Slacks" Miligan, didn't know his first name, use to tell me our family has always been in the mix of strange company.  That day I found he told the truth.
